Without exception, you should always have some form of ID with you on EVERY run, regardless of distance. This is especially fact if you could have allergic reactions to certain medical treatments, or have some sort of medical condition.
My recommendation is to get the inexpensive Road ID. It is a shinny piece of lightweight metal that you can wear on your shoe, wrist, ankle, or elsewhere. There is room for phone numbers and brief medical notes.

Safety must be part of your running program. Each year over 450,000 of us are taken to hospitals unconscious and without ID. Thousands suffer blackouts, concussions, heart attacks, heat strokes and other serious accidents.
The pros of the Road ID include…it is lightweight, a guaranteed product, reflective, and allows enough room for vital information. In a nutshell, the Road ID provides contact information and emergency/medical information in case of injury.
If there were any concerns, it would be in style only…it only comes in three colors. Hopefully, it will match your running ensemble
The Road ID comes in black, blue, or red, weighs just .1 ounce, has a Velcro strap, and the reflective stripe is helped by 3M’s Scotchlite. The notes are laser-engraved, and it is water/weather proof.
