Product Description

The Garmin Forerunner 110 looks like a basic digital watch, but it is actually a powerful training device that uses GPS to track your exercise. The big difference between the Forerunner 110 and similar devices is that it is simpler and cheaper. All the most basic model of the Forerunner 110 does is to use GPS to record the time, distance and pace of your workout. This model only costs around $200 at most retailers. This would be a great tool for a person who has set an exercise goal for themselves as a new year’s resolution. It would also be a good starter GPS workout unit for those that aren’t that familiar with the technology. As with similar devices the information on Garmin Forerunner 110 can be uploaded onto a computer. Once there it can be evaluated through Garmin’s Garmin Connect website. The advantage to this device is that it is very simple and doesn’t involve much programming. This makes it a perfect GPS device for those that aren’t familiar with these gadgets. Another advantage to the Forerunner 110 is that it automatically connects with GPS satellites once you are outside. This means you don’t have to program it for that task. The 110 also reconnects automatically when the connection to the satellites is lost. Unlike a lot of the GPS devices out there, the basic model of the Garmin Forerunner 110 doesn’t have a heart monitor. A version with a heart version is available for about $50 more. Some runners may not like the 110 that much because it is so simple and does everything for the user. More involved runners could prefer a more complex model they have to program. The very basic appearance which looks more like a watch will undoubtedly put off some gadget lovers. Others may like the idea of not having a big watch on their hand during their workout.
